In these times, we are particularly vulnerable to fear-laden messages that lead us away from ourselves and our missions in life.  Fearing fear, we create space for blind terror to grow.  We can easily succumb to seeking simplistic answers that offer a false sense of security.  Having lost many "technologies of the sacred," we increasingly turn to technologies that do not help us find our way.

When we listen to earth based peoples, we are listening to our oldest selves.

Wisdom from these cultures tells us what modern physics and science is beginning to prove: that we are all interconnected in an intricate web of life; when one part is affected, we are all affected.  We must seek out and practice ways of being that recognize this basic truth.

The wheel of life presented in Angeles Arrien's "Four-Fold Way" is a sacred technology that contains four basic principles: show up and be present; pay attention to what has heart and meaning; tell the truth without blame or judgment; be open to outcome, not attached to an outcome.  We will explore these principles and the four major archetypes that carry them: warrior, healer, visionary, and teacher.

Please join us and help us to begin to create a world in which we, our children, and our grandchildren would choose to live.

Tom McGee is a psychotherapist in private practice in Ventura, CA.  He employs dream work, nature practices, wilderness experience, trauma work, focused attention, compassion and imagination in his work.

Richard Palmer has been a counselor for over twenty years.  His love of sould and his devotion to restoring the community of men has led Richard to become active in bringing initiation practices to the community.  He is a poet, a lover of beauty and a fierce advocate for the impassioned life.
