What Is Our Purpose?
On a Vision Quest, a seeker may encounter a vision- an image or story that becomes a guiding principle as one continues the journey.
Then again, the seeker may experience vision, a clarity or meaning in the present moment that does not ordinarily infuse one's perception.
On a vision quest, it is possible to experience both.

WHY DO A VISION QUEST?
Sometimes a person arrives at a place in life where there are questions which are difficult to address, such as: Which direction should my life take now? How do I make this transition? How can I be true to my spiritual nature? What is my purpose on this planet? How can I make a difference? Other profound questions may arise that bring about the need for a period of focused reflection and contemplation. A vision quest offers a guided, supported experience of solitude in the wilderness, a time to address serious questions in the company of natural surroundings and like-minded human beings. It is your experience but a small community of others is there to share it with you.
Preparation and Process
There will be 6 monthly meetings followed by 4 days and nights of fasting in solitude in the wilderness.
The meetings will consist of:
-Discussion, information, and experiential exercises to prepare participants on three different planes:
*Physical Plane: Backpacking essentials, safety and first aid, preparation for fasting, use of community for safety and physical support.
*Mythological Plane: Your purpose in participating, marking a transition, exploring and understanding the story that you are living in.
*Contemplative Plane: Methods and practices to enter into deep connection with nature.

Cost: There is no fee for this Vision Quest. The facilitators ask that eacy participant give $400 to the charity or cause of their choice as a "giveaway" to the community. This is to acknowledge that this experience is intended to benefit the whole community, not only the individual who is participating in the Vision Quest.
Where: Vision Quest will take place in a mountain area in southern California.
