A threshold walk is a walk in a natural environment for a few hours, during which a person walks alone with attentiveness to the surrounding area.
A day walk is an all day walk, preferably from sunrise to sunset, during which a person accesses the natural area in a meandering manner, following desire and intuition, and attentive to messages and healings from the surrounding area.
An overnight solo is a 24-hour stay in the wilderness, alone but with support nearby in case of any emergency.
A vision quest is an extended stay in the wilderness, usually three or four days and nights, alone but with support nearby in case of any emergency.

I prepare the seeker before each of these activities so that maximum benefit can be received from the activity. Preparation includes enhancing attentiveness and intuition, the use of nature practices, briefing on terrain and particular characteristics of the area explored, and practical aspects such as safety and dealing with emergencies. After the activity, I debrief and mirror back to the seeker regarding the insights or healings that have occurred. Together, we explore the experience and do our best to expand its effectiveness with the intent of generating positive influence on the person’s emotional and spiritual being as well as the experience of daily life.
These activities are most often done in a small group (six persons or less) in order to augment the benefits by sharing and mutual discussion of the experience. I recommend that people start with a threshold walk and move up to longer periods of time alone in the wilderness, depending on previous experience.
